Butchered responds to our society’s views of our ownership of wood and trees as a resource and common material in our everyday lives. Drawing from imagery of the meat industry, this piece puts into question where the ethical line between consuming animals versus consuming materials is. These days it is common to see imagery actions of protest that fight for animal rights while we silently consume wood at a rate double that of animals.
