The Proletarian
Tulip, found object

2023
The Proletarian highlights the ongoing battle between the body’s resilience to the toll that labor takes on the body through physical use and abuse. This piece is both a reflection of my own personal experiences as well as an observation of the human condition. No matter the task at hand there is always a cost of labor on the body and wear is inevitable. Using natural materials I personally harvested combined with found objects, the materials themselves represent another layer of this conversation: the intersection of the natural and industrial worlds.
