Southern Aspect reflects the natural developments that occur in our landscape determined by the path our sun travels. Using trees as a point of reference to discern direction is a technique that has been used for centuries. Looking at the trunk of trees, moss will typically grow more densely on the north facing side of the trees. The south facing aspect of these trees have been planed flat and then illuminated to reference the effects of the sun's rays.
