Reconstruction studies the process of disassembling and reassembling material. In order to move this large tree I had to cut it into manageable pieces that I could carry by hand. Once in the gallery space the tree was reconstructed to fit back together. Similarly, the rope used was originally intended for another purpose but upon deconstructing it down to its individual strands, they were found to be too fragile to use on their own. The rope was then reconstructed and used to hold the tree together.
